Northeast Florida Community Golf Courses

The golf courses available in Northeast Florida are among the most beautiful and competitive in the world, so get ready to play to your hearts content.

For the golfer who wants it all, there’s no need to look any further. Amelia Island Plantation on Amelia Island, was named Silver Medal Golf Resort by Golf Magazine, has three 3 world-class courses – which translates to total bliss for any golfer.

Amelia Links, designed by Pete Dye and Bobby Weed, is a 36-hole masterpiece in course design. It features two signature courses, Oak Marsh and  Ocean Links, and Long Point, created by acclaimed golfer and designer Tom Fazio.

Long Point is an amazing 18-hole layout distinctly designed among marshlands and impressive sand dunes along the Atlantic Ocean. Long Point is the primary course for club members, but resort guests can reserve tee times one day in advance. It is also home to the Amelia Island Plantation Golf School, conducted by Ron Philos School of Golf, which overlooks its own private driving range and practice green. And the pro shops at Amelia Links and Long Point offer private instruction, equipment rental, customized gifts, golf accessories and sportswear.

In Jacksonville, a few miles from Atlantic Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway, Queens Harbour Yacht and Country Club offers enormous live oaks dripping with Spanish moss that graces the Mark McCumber Royal Course. This 72-par course was created out of 1,000 acres of native woodland and surrounding marsh offering a challenge that is appreciated by professionals and amateurs alike. Bracketed by beautiful homes, lakes and quiet suburban streets nestled in this gated community, golfers will thoroughly enjoy the aesthetics and scenic settings that come with their outing.

A few miles away harkens the course every golfer has heard about at Sawgrass Country Club consistently ranked among the top 100 courses to play by Golf Digest, The Sawgrass Oceanside Course gained its stellar reputation as the home of the PGA Tour’s Tournament Players Championship from 1977 to 1981. Featuring 27 holes of championship golf, the course is rated among the top 10 courses – receiving a rating of 4.486 out of a possible 5.

The Sawgrass Country Club features a spacious driving range facility complete with two separate putting greens, practice bunker, and chipping greens to provide the ideal locations to work on your game.

Finally, Ocean Hammock, designed by Jack Nicklaus, uses elevated mounds of scrub oak and native brush called hammocks; to create natural ocean barriers. This new course is a joy to the eyes, and lots of fun for all golfers.

There are so many golf courses of beauty and challenge offered in northeast Florida that it will take you months to play them all.
